Sustainable Entrepreneurship: Good Deeds, Business, Social and Environmental Responsibility in a Market Experiment

We study how commitment of entrepreneurs to sustainability practices might effectively improve the social and environmental impact market competition. To this end we devised a experiment in which profit maximization socially environmentally concerned behavior were both potential goals producers. Our subject pool included two distinct types students having different prosocial attitudes. The adopted significantly strategies treatment group, where producers could contribute positive externality, whereas they behaved similarly control only objective was maximization. Subjects who ex-ante more chose produce with focus on externality than their counterparts. However, failed actually deliver larger as consequence outcome. conclude that often commit responsibility, even though well-meaning conducts do not necessarily beget equally good outcomes.
